Armored Guard Booth

The guard at a checkpoint is the most exposed person on the site: the first to meet every vehicle and every pedestrian, often for hours at the same spot. An armored guard booth gives that guard a protected cabin from which to watch the surroundings. Because it is prefabricated, the booth is prepared in the factory and delivered ready to the site, so it can be set up without a long construction process. Even where a permanent structure is not possible, a protected guard post can be established.

Being transportable also makes the booth suitable for temporary and changing tasks: when the threat or the route changes, the cabin can be moved to a new position. A booth is only as strong as its weakest surface; walls, door and vision glazing must be treated at the same level, and sight lines must be planned from the start so the guard can watch the surroundings without interruption. On hours-long watches, climate must be accounted for too: a tired guard is not an alert guard. Protection level, dimensions and interior fit-out are engineered to the threat assessment and the site.
